The history of the company MKS Markenkosmetik Service GmbH & Co KG goes back more than 35 years. Since 1975, the name MKS is synonymous with quality in the area of contract manufacturing and filling. Activities during the first years were still limited to the area of cosmetics, as the name of the company implies as well.
Over time, however, the range of activities were significantly expanded: Among the customers of MKS are well known suppliers of  brand name products, manufacturers of dietary and nutritional supplements, and medical products (disinfectants and cleaning products for hospitals and the area of hygiene), as well as firms in the pharmaceutical industry.
Cosmetics remain to be the primary focus of the company's business activities. In this area, MKS is a one-stop provider and competent partner from conception to marketing of a product.

The following is a brief overview of the key events in the history of MKS:

• 1975 - Company is founded in the city of Mainz-Hechtsheim, Germany;  12 employees, focus is on cosmetics
• 1992 - Moving to a bigger building in Bingen, production capacities are expanded to include drugs and products containing alcohol
• 1997 - Takeover by the Woellner Group, Ludwigshafen, and integration into the corporate structure
• 1998 - 110 employees, 35 customers, production capacities are expanded to include medical products, protective skin preparations, nutritional supplements
• 2009 - More than one 100 customers
• 2010 - Dr. Uwe Robben takes charge at MKS
